![]() Edition #55 Underwater Touring
Hi #firstname#, In this edition, we meet two of our absolute favourite underwater explorers, Jürgen and Stella Freund. Jürgen is presenting at next month's Underwater Tour. We're proud to be a media partner and would like to recommend you buy a ticket while they are still available. Jürgen and Stella are the definition of a 'conservation partnership', beginning with a love story that culminated in a year and a half on an expedition to document life throughout the enture Coral Triangle for WWF. Along with world-famous nature photographers like Jim Brandenburg, David Doubilet, Frans Lanting and Art Wolfe, Jürgen is one of only 58 photographers, worldwide, honoured with senior fellowship of the International League of Conservation Photographers. Yet, Stella says, she still prefers snorkelling. "It's freedom" she says "freedom to investigate and I can spend as long as I want exploring". When Jürgen does dive these days, he tends to dive in the shallows. ![]() Chances are, you probably already know Jürgen and Stella's images as they are splashed across magazines, installations, conservation reports and some of the world's most prestigious photography awards. So we're are really excited to be going to see Jürgen present about his experiences in the Coral Triangle in May at the Underwater Tour where he'll be joined by other acclaimed underwater photographers in Brisbane (9 May), Perth (10 May), Melbourne (11 May) and Sydney (12 May). We're also introducing you to our friends at ZuBlu, a team who have a portfolio of trips and expertise to create sustainable options for south-east Asia. Don't let the word 'diving' put you off. Whether you're looking for a family trip or to learn to dive, these guys will be best able to help you find guilt-free options that suit your particular interests. So enjoy meeting our friends. Everyone is here to help you, so get in touch directly and we'll see what we can do to connect you with nature. Thanks again for reading,
LAST MONTH'S WINNER: Congratulations to M Burt of Wollongong who won the Aqualung i300 dive computer. That's on its way care of Dive Gear Australia. Thanks to everyone who took part. |

For centuries, indigenous islanders traded nutmeg, which was found only here. They were colonised by the Portuguese then Dutch. Today the islands are visited by Pindito’s new adventurers. The colonies are still visible and this trip is especially exciting as its combined with Raja Ampat, giving explorers the chance to see some of the world’s most beautiful, diverse and fascinating locations, full of megafauna such as Blue Whales, Manta Rays and Oceanic Sharks. This trip will include up to two dives a day (on average), with some time exploring the communities and other wildlife offshore. This is suitable for both divers and non-divers. |
